Oppo Find N6 Edges Galaxy Z Fold 8 on Crease Test Despite Samsung's 7.6-Inch Display Upgrade

Q: Will Samsung's new Flex Titanium display finally dethrone Oppo's ripple design, or is the flawless foldable screen still an illusion?

Samsung has not dethroned Oppo yet, and a truly flawless foldable screen still remains out of reach. The evidence so far shows Samsung’s new Flex Titanium display is a major technical step forward, not a final victory. Side-by-side testing found the Galaxy Z Fold 8 crease is far shallower than on earlier Galaxy Folds, with Samsung’s titanium-alloy film, titanium support plate, redesigned hinge, and anti-reflective coating all helping reduce visibility and glare. In normal use, especially with the display on, the crease is difficult to notice during gaming, browsing, or video playback. But the crease is not gone. Under direct light and with the screen off, reviewers could still see it, and by touch it remains a dip across the center. Oppo’s Find N6 also does not achieve a perfectly flat display, but its approach still appears more refined: instead of one pronounced fold line, it spreads the deformation into softer ripples that feel smoother under the finger. That tactile advantage is why Oppo still edges Samsung in pure crease performance. What Samsung has done is make the crease much less of an everyday compromise. For many buyers, that may matter more than winning a lab-style comparison by a small margin. Flex Titanium appears to narrow the gap substantially and improves durability, thinness, and efficiency as well. So the race has tightened, but the ideal of an invisible, unfelt foldable screen is still more aspiration than reality.
