Summary
$10 million in seed funding will help Malachyte expand distribution and hire product and commercial leaders as it pushes its AI shopping platform further into e-commerce.
The startup says most retailers still personalize with purchase history and broad segments, while its system updates recommendations in real time from signals such as clicks, searches, scrolls and context.
Malachyte was founded by three former builders of Spotify’s Vector AI recommendation infrastructure, which they say powers about 90% of recommendations for Spotify’s 800 million users.
Since 2024, the company has tested the technology with more than 20 enterprise customers; it launched with Fun.com in fall 2025 and has been generally available to Shopify merchants since June 2026.
Bessemer Venture Partners and Gradient co-led the round, backing Malachyte’s broader pitch that merchandising and marketing should share the same live view of shopper intent.
