Three requirements gate Bubbly Basin: the Expansion Pass, the new Dive move, and Bleak Beach’s “Raise the environment level!” request completed to level 5.
Manaphy provides the key unlock—after talking to Professor Tangrowth outside the Bleak Beach Pokémon Center, players head north to learn Dive in a process the guide says takes about five minutes.
Popplio then appears at the Pokémon Center to introduce the Basin area and join the player’s Basin Pokédex before they swim west, dive underwater, and enter the Basin gate.
Bubbly Basin launched on Aug. 5 alongside free update 2.0.0, adding an underwater town and new Water-type Pokémon as the first major Expansion Pass DLC.
