Aug. 5's free v2.0.0 update adds a centered icon and on-screen frame to steady players during underwater exploration, targeting motion sickness and disorientation ahead of Bubbly Basin.
Bubbly Basin, the first of a three-part expansion pass launching Wednesday, expands underwater play with Dive support, habitat-building and new Pokédex entries including Diglett, Golisopod, Stunfisk and Sharpedo.
A new blender in the expansion upgrades Surf, boosting speed underwater and letting players break submerged blocks while still using other abilities below the surface.
The same free update also introduces a town-placeable storage container with 140 shared slots, letting players access stored loot from multiple locations without repeated fast travel.
