Istanbul's CPI rose 2.06% in July, a faster monthly gain than June's 1.14%, while annual inflation cooled to 35.2% from 35.94%, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce data showed.
Healthcare led July price increases with a 9.77% jump, followed by transportation at 4.42% and communication at 3.69%, indicating broad-based monthly pressure despite the lower annual rate.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 1.3%, housing increased 2.01%, and restaurants and hotels gained 1.54%; clothing and footwear was the only main category to fall, down 0.66%.
Turkey's nationwide July inflation data is due on Aug. 3, with economists surveyed by Anadolu Agency expecting a 1.82% month-on-month CPI increase.
