Two Women Sue Matt Gaetz Over 2017-2019 Sex-Trafficking Allegations

Summary
Two women filed a civil lawsuit accusing Matt Gaetz of sex trafficking, alleging he and Joel Greenberg exploited them from 2017 through January 2019.
The complaint says Gaetz and Greenberg coordinated recruitment, payments, drugs and travel for commercial sex acts, with trips including Las Vegas, New York City and the Bahamas.
Chris Dorworth, a former Florida legislator and lobbyist, is also named because his Central Florida home allegedly hosted a party where some of the conduct occurred.
Gaetz said he would vigorously contest the suit and called much of the alleged conduct false, while arguing it relies heavily on a congressional report.
The case extends a scandal that surfaced in 2021; Greenberg is serving an 11-year federal sentence, but the Justice Department closed its Gaetz investigation without charges.
