Amazon Cuts Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB to $949.99, 32% Below $1,399.99

Q: Is sacrificing perfect color and dark-scene clarity really worth saving $2,000 on a massive 100-inch screen?

For many buyers, yes — if the priority is sheer size, brightness and gaming performance rather than reference-level picture quality. At $2,499.99, the 100-inch Hisense U7SG is priced far below premium giant-screen TVs, and the $2,000 discount is real enough to change the value equation. Reviews of the U7 line describe it as a strong bright-room and sports TV, with very high brightness, strong glare handling, low input lag around 10ms, HDMI 2.1 features and a high refresh rate suited to fast action and consoles. For football, daytime viewing and multiplayer gaming, those strengths matter more than perfect black levels. The trade-off is also clear. More expensive TVs, especially OLEDs and higher-end mini-LED sets, deliver more accurate color, deeper blacks and better control of blooming in dark scenes. Reports on the U7 note that color can look a bit muted or slightly greenish, and haloing can show up around bright objects on dark backgrounds. If your main use is watching films in a dark room and you care about cinematic shadow detail, that compromise may be hard to ignore on a screen this large. What makes the U7SG compelling is that 100-inch TVs have become more affordable, but a model with this mix of brightness, 144Hz-class motion, HDR support and gaming features at this price remains aggressive. In short, the savings are worth it for sports fans, gamers and bright-room viewers. Movie purists should still look higher up the market.

Q: With 100-inch screens suddenly becoming affordable tomorrow, are we witnessing the end of traditional home projectors?

No — affordable 100-inch TVs are putting serious pressure on projectors, but they are not ending them. Deals like Hisense’s 100-inch U7SG at $2,499.99 show how fast giant TVs have moved into mainstream pricing. That matters because TVs now offer many things projectors still struggle to match: far higher brightness, better performance in daylight, simpler setup, built-in smart platforms, lower input lag, and strong gaming features such as 144Hz refresh rates, VRR and HDMI 2.1. Reviews of the U7SG also point to very high brightness, good glare handling and low latency, making it especially attractive for sports and gaming in normal living rooms. That shift does threaten the traditional selling point of projectors for buyers who mainly wanted “the biggest screen possible” at home. If a 98- or 100-inch TV is now within reach, many consumers will prefer a plug-and-play panel over managing throw distance, screen quality, room darkness and external audio. But projectors still have a clear lane. They remain the more practical choice for people who want 120 to 150 inches or more, where TV pricing, shipping and installation become far more difficult. They also suit dedicated dark-room home theaters and outdoor movie setups better than giant TVs. So the market is not witnessing the death of projectors; it is witnessing the death of their middle ground. For many households, 100-inch TVs now replace the projector dream. For truly cinema-scale viewing, projectors still win.

Q: Can a budget-friendly giant truly handle high-speed gaming, or will backlight haloing ruin your experience?

Yes — the Hisense U7SG looks capable of handling high-speed gaming well enough for most buyers, and haloing is more of a trade-off than a deal-breaker. The evidence is strong on gaming performance. The set is built around a 144Hz panel in the sale materials, with broader review coverage citing up to 165Hz support, plus HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM and low input lag around 10ms in 4K HDR. Those are the key specs that matter for fast console and PC play, and they place the U7SG firmly in the “good gaming TV” category rather than just a big, cheap screen with gaming branding. Its MiniLED backlight also helps in bright rooms, where many people actually game. Reviews describe very high brightness — up to roughly 3,000 nits — along with strong glare handling and good shadow detail. That combination is especially useful for sports titles, shooters and HDR games, where motion clarity and highlight intensity matter. The main compromise is blooming or backlight haloing. Reports say it can show up in dark scenes, especially around bright UI elements or subtitles on black backgrounds. But the same reviews also say the effect is limited enough that the TV remains a strong value, particularly at these sale prices. For most gamers, the answer is yes: this budget-friendly giant should deliver a satisfying fast-gaming experience. If you are highly sensitive to blooming in dark-room play, an OLED will still look cleaner — but it will usually cost much more, especially at 100 inches.
