Summary
Apple shares climbed as much as 1.2% in premarket trading after the company unveiled the foldable iPhone Duo alongside the iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro.
Citi kept a Buy rating and $365 target, calling the Duo Apple’s biggest new hardware category since the Watch and AirPods, while BofA maintained Buy but cut its target to $370 from $380.
Analysts said the new lineup’s pricing was broadly in line with expectations, with BofA adding that lower-than-expected prices could lift unit sales even as rising memory and component costs pressure margins.
Retail enthusiasm was weaker: nearly 80% of more than 13,000 Stocktwits respondents said they do not plan to buy the foldable, while 11% would purchase on day one and 9% are waiting for reviews.
Even so, Stocktwits sentiment on Apple stock flipped to bullish from bearish over the past day, and the shares became one of the platform’s top-trending tickers.
