Summary
November 5 is the release date for Nintendo’s ground-up Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, unveiled during the franchise’s 40th-anniversary Direct.
Switch 2 upgrades include a new 3D visual style, manual jump and dash controls, faster item switching, motion-control aiming, and fully voiced cutscenes.
Nintendo also added new features without overhauling the game’s core structure: a Threads of Time quest log, hum-to-play ocarina songs, and teased extra Castle Town areas and shop minigames.
The launch puts one of Nintendo’s biggest holiday releases in the same month as Grand Theft Auto 6, a crowded window few major publishers have chosen to challenge.
