Ukraine Hits Lukoil’s Perm Refinery 1,600 Kilometers Inside Russia

Perm, more than 1,600 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, was hit overnight by Ukrainian drones that struck Lukoil’s Permnefteorgsintez refinery and sparked a large fire, according to Zelenskyy and Ukrainian media.
Zelenskyy said the same wave also hit the Marinovka military air base in Volgograd, framing the long-range strikes as an effort to bring the war’s costs back into Russia.
Russia’s Perm governor said air defenses downed 16 drones over the region but acknowledged damage to one industrial facility, adding that no injuries were reported.
The refinery strike followed attacks earlier this week on a Rosneft-linked Bashkortostan refinery and on Taneco and the Tamanneftegaz terminal, extending Ukraine’s near-daily campaign against Russian oil infrastructure.
Those repeated hits have kept major processing sites offline during peak demand season, worsening gasoline and diesel shortages in Russia for more than three months.
