Summary
Samsung’s August 2026 Security Maintenance Release fixes 56 vulnerabilities on eligible Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 14, 15 and 16, with rollout expected to start in the coming days.
Google supplied 38 of the fixes from its August bulletin—8 rated critical and 30 high priority—while Samsung added 18 patches for One UI and Galaxy software.
Samsung-specific fixes close an authorization bypass in SemClipboardService, flaws in Contacts, Dialer, Messages, Galaxy Themes and AppLock, plus media codec and system-library bugs that could be exploited locally.
The update also tightens Weaver hardware access controls to block a flaw that could let a local attacker render a device unusable; some SVE details remain undisclosed.
Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8 and S26 models are likely to get the patch first before it expands by region, carrier and model to older flagships and supported A-series devices.
