Summary
More than 700 homes and businesses in Hillsdale County can now access Spectrum internet, mobile, TV and voice services after the company expanded its fiber network into previously unserved or underserved areas.
The buildout covers Allen, Amboy, Camden, Litchfield, Reading and Scipio townships and was funded in part through Michigan’s ROBIN broadband grant program and a U.S. Treasury-backed federal award.
Spectrum said the expansion is part of a multi-year rural initiative backed by more than $7 billion in private investment that aims to add 100,000-plus miles of fiber and reach 1.7 million new locations nationwide.
Residential and business customers in the new service area can get internet speeds up to 1 Gbps, with Spectrum also rolling out network upgrades intended to deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds more broadly.
