Residents still were told to avoid recalled lettuce tied to the outbreak, which the CDC said has reached 15 states and was linked to shredded iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell and supplied by Taylor Farms de Mexico.
July 17 marked Taylor Farms' voluntary recall of all central Mexico-grown iceberg lettuce distributed to restaurants and retailers in 27 states, including selected Walmart stores under the Marketside brand.
