19.58 million visitors came to Las Vegas in the first half of 2026, up 0.2% from a year earlier, keeping the city ahead of its 2025 pace.
3.64 million convention attendees drove that gain, up 12.6% year to date, while June convention traffic surged 25.8% to 471,100 even as total June visitation slipped 0.5% to 3.07 million.
June's softer leisure demand showed up in pricing and hotel performance: Strip room rates fell 5.1% to $165.45 and revenue per room dropped 4.7%, while downtown occupancy sank to 55.8% from 62.5%.
World Cup spillover failed to deliver the hoped-for boost, and downtown operators also pointed to weaker international travel, including reduced Canadian trips to the U.S. amid geopolitical and tariff tensions.
The Strip still held up better than downtown, with June occupancy edging up to 82.2%, and Las Vegas also got support from a 5.2% increase in California-Nevada vehicle traffic.
