Cloudflare on Tuesday introduced Cloudflare Wallets, letting users claim wallet handles now and later use account and virtual wallets for AI-agent payments across APIs, content and other x402-compatible services.
The product targets two bottlenecks in agentic commerce: agents often lack a stable identity and a native payment method, making API signup, key generation and payment flows too human-dependent.
Virtual Wallets are built for agents and run via API keys, while Account Wallets are controlled by humans who can set guardrails such as allowances, allow lists and maximum transaction sizes.
Cloudflare said the wallets will hold stablecoins and work with its Monetization Gateway's x402 micropayments, enabling low-cost API trials and delegated spending with manual overrides when limits are exceeded.
The launch also adds optional identity through cloudflare.pay handles, part of Cloudflare's push to build a headless marketplace as bots now generate a majority of web traffic.
