Yes. Halo: Campaign Evolved looks like a leading contender, but the lack of multiplayer could easily keep it from being a runaway Game of the Month winner. The July PS5 vote is unusually competitive, and Halo is not arriving in a vacuum. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is the other obvious front-runner, backed by strong reviews, broad nostalgia, and a much larger feature set: a ground-up remake, expanded story content, new areas, refined combat, and the kind of open-ended pirate sandbox that tends to generate longer player engagement. Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok also gives voters a well-liked alternative. For Halo, the campaign package is strong. Coverage praises its Unreal Engine 5 overhaul, refined controls, cross-play four-player co-op, 42 Skulls, Campaign Remix mode, and three prequel missions. But multiple reviews and fan reactions point to the same weakness: no classic multiplayer. For a series whose identity was built not just on campaign, but on split-screen battles, LAN memories, and competitive replayability, that omission matters. That does not mean Halo cannot win. Reader polls are often driven by brand recognition and affection, and Halo’s PS5 debut is a notable event on its own. But the missing multiplayer removes what might have made it an uncontested favorite. Instead of a guaranteed victory, it now faces a genuine head-to-head with Black Flag Resynced, which appears more complete and may feel like the safer all-around pick for voters.

July's field follows a sparse June release slate and is led by two high-profile remakes — Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced and Halo: Campaign Evolved — that drew strong reviews and player support.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok also enters as one of the month's best-received releases, alongside Denschattack, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game and Kusan: City of Wolves.
The July winner will join 2026's previous monthly victors, including 007 First Light in May and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales in June.
