URXR One gets 6DoF and gesture control by splitting the workload. The glasses carry sensors and a dedicated spatial-processing system for tracking, while the connected phone, laptop or console supplies the main app content and power. Reports describe a dual-camera SLAM setup, four forward-facing cameras, a 6-axis IMU, and an on-glasses spatial processing unit/NPU that handles head-position tracking and video see-through locally, with hand gestures enabled through the URXR Connect companion app. That architecture lets Unseen Reality avoid putting a full standalone computer and battery on the wearer’s face, which is how it keeps the device at about 93 grams. In practice, the glasses can anchor windows in space and read hand movements without the bulk of a headset like Apple Vision Pro. The hidden cost is optical and system tradeoff, not magic-free performance. URXR One relies on opaque video see-through rather than transparent AR optics, because its mini pancake lens design needs cameras to recreate the outside world. Pancake optics are compact but inefficient, passing only a fraction of display light to the eye, which requires very bright micro-OLED panels and can constrain brightness efficiency. Video see-through also introduces latency risk and image mediation: users are not seeing the world directly, but through cameras and processing. Unseen Reality says passthrough latency is under 10 milliseconds, but that remains a performance budget the system must constantly manage.

$899 URXR One mixed-reality glasses will ship to retailers in September, with Unseen Reality offering a $100 Kickstarter discount in August for the first batch.
At about 93 grams, the headset is positioned as an all-day wearable alternative to Apple’s 750-800 gram Vision Pro, which sells for $3,699.
URXR One connects by Bluetooth or USB-C to laptops, phones, tablets, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox, extending or mirroring screens for private viewing in places like cafes and parks.
Two operating modes support that pitch: direct mode uses three buttons, while spatial mode pairs with the URXR Connect app for hand-gesture control of virtual windows.
After debuting at June’s Augmented World Expo in Long Beach, the startup says it is refining the product with expo, Discord and YouTube feedback while treating the glasses as a platform for future upgrades.
