Summary
August 13 will bring Super Mario Sunshine to Nintendo Switch 2 for Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, adding the 2002 GameCube title to the service’s GameCube lineup.
Nintendo is using the release to deepen the Expansion Pack catalog, with Sunshine’s arrival taking the Switch 2-exclusive GameCube library to 10 games.
The game remains a divisive Mario entry because it traded more traditional 3D platforming for FLUDD-driven cleanup and environmental puzzle mechanics on Isle Delfino.
Nintendo’s teaser did not show gameplay, but other GameCube additions on Switch 2 have included higher-resolution upgrades; Sunshine was already remastered once in the now-delisted Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection.
Pokémon Colosseum has also been confirmed for the GameCube service, signaling further expansion even though Nintendo has not given that title a release date.
