Apple Overhauls iPhone Messages in iOS 27 With Siri AI and RCS 2.7

iOS 27 revamps Apple’s Messages app with AI-generated previews for long texts, one-tap actions and a new sending progress bar ahead of its September release.
Siri AI powers much of the update, surfacing shortcuts to call someone, create a calendar event or note, send an email, save a photo, or take and send one from a chat.
Apple also says Siri can draft texts in a user’s own style based on prior exchanges, while users who dislike dictation can now remove the speech-to-text button.
RCS 2.7 support upgrades messaging with non-iPhone users by adding inline replies, proper emoji reactions, message editing and deletion, and digital drawings.
Apple first unveiled the changes at WWDC last month, and beta access is already available through its Beta Software Program before the wider rollout.
