Ukraine Probes Defence Expo After Russian Missile Strike Kills at Least 10

At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured after a rare daytime Russian ballistic missile strike hit a military training ground near Kyiv during a defence exhibition.
Ukraine’s prosecutor-general opened two cases: a war-crimes investigation into Russia’s attack and a criminal probe into whether officials improperly approved the event’s location, timing, format and security.
Attendees and industry groups said defence company representatives were at the site, while organisers urged participants not to share photos or location details that could endanger people or the investigation.
The attack revived scrutiny of publicly promoted military events after a similar 2023 Russian strike on a drone exhibition in Chernihiv killed seven people and wounded more than 140, prompting tighter publicity rules.
Friday’s strike came as both sides hit logistics and military infrastructure, with Ukraine targeting Wildberries facilities, a Kirov military enterprise and an oil site inside Russia.
