The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame on Tuesday released what it called the first officially licensed, limited-edition bobblehead of Jimothy, the Seattle raccoon that went viral this summer.
More than 10 million social-media views of a July video turned the Ballard raccoon into an internet sensation, driving demand for merchandise tied to his growing fan base.
The $30 figure shows Jimothy in a running pose on a grass-like base with his name, will be individually numbered, and is being sold only through the museum’s online store with December shipping.
Jimothy’s round look is linked to a reported short spine syndrome, but he is healthy and mobile; his fame has already spawned fan art, a mural, clothing, and an honorary University of Washington degree.
