Bill Hagerty said on a podcast that Donald Trump is on track to complete U.S. military objectives in Iran and will not leave the conflict unresolved for a future administration.
The Tennessee Republican tied that view to Iran's nuclear threat, arguing Trump is confronting a danger that could further empower Hamas and Hezbollah if Tehran gains a weapon.
Hagerty also framed Trump's approach in personal and spiritual terms, saying a 20-minute call after the Butler shooting convinced him Trump sees his survival as divine providence and a mandate to tackle hard problems.
The remarks came as Hagerty seeks his first re-election in a state where primaries are set for Aug. 6 and the general election for Nov. 3.
