That release brought the more transformative features: live translation, stronger photo-editing tools, proactive suggestions such as Now Nudge and Now Brief, improved call and text assistance, and broader “agentic” AI ambitions across apps. By comparison, the One UI 9.0 beta shown so far appears focused on refinement. What is confirmed in the current One UI 9.0 beta is relatively modest. Samsung has added features such as Creative Studio for personalized profile cards and “Ask AI” in Samsung Browser, alongside visual tweaks, bug fixes, performance tuning, and the July 2026 security patch. Those are useful additions, but they do not yet amount to a clear step-change in how Galaxy AI works for most users. That said, it would be premature to dismiss One UI 9.0 entirely. Reports indicate Samsung may be holding back the fuller AI package for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 launch later in July. If those promised “agentic AI” features arrive as described, with more autonomous multi-step assistance, the broader One UI 9 cycle could still become more significant. For now, based on the beta available on the Galaxy S26 series, the new Galaxy AI features are best described as meaningful polish rather than truly new innovation.
