Summary
Ten DSA-backed House and mayoral candidates won Tuesday, including mayoral races in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Providence, while seven winners will serve in Congress next year.
127 of 294 DSA-endorsed candidates have won so far, with 70 races still undecided, extending the group’s gains beyond the headline House and mayoral contests.
Affordability, expanded health care access and ending U.S. aid to Israel were central themes in the winning campaigns, which tapped broader dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party’s center.
The victories build on earlier primary upsets by left-wing Democrats and further entrench the DSA inside the party as House Democrats prepare to govern with a larger socialist bloc.
