Summary
Edited images showing Jeff Bezos and Jason Statham with full hair have been circulating on X, Threads and Bluesky, prompting false claims that both men had hair transplants.
Reverse-image searches traced the Bezos photo to an unaltered 2023 image and the Statham photo to a paparazzi shot from 2011, confirming the circulating versions were manipulated.
No Content Credentials or SynthID markers appeared on the tested images, underscoring how easily AI-assisted or conventional edits can spread without reliable platform labeling.
The episode fits a broader pattern of celebrity image fakery designed to drive likes and reposts, as generative AI makes convincing social-media hoaxes cheaper and faster to produce.
