Summary
$399 Pixel Watch 5 arrives just 10 months after its predecessor with a $50 higher starting price, but the review says its value comes mainly from software rather than new hardware.
Offline Gemini, a redesigned Google Health app and Breathing Emergency Detection are the standout additions, while the watch keeps the same basic design, display and sensor setup as the Pixel Watch 4.
Google also touts cloud-corrected GPS and a 12% CPU boost, but the review found route gains hard to notice in typical use and overall performance only modestly quicker.
Battery life stays around 30 hours on the 41mm model, charging reaches 50% in about 17 minutes, and heart-rate accuracy remained close to a Garmin chest strap.
For Android buyers, the review calls Pixel Watch 5 the default pick at this price, though Pixel Watch 4 remains the better value for many because several new health features also roll back to older models.
