Google's Android 17 QPR3 Beta 2 adds a lock-screen setting that blocks Quick Settings changes to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode and mobile data until the phone is unlocked.
The feature is designed to stop thieves from taking a stolen device offline immediately, buying users more time to locate, wipe or otherwise secure the phone.
Once enabled, any attempt to change those connectivity controls requires a PIN, password, pattern, fingerprint or face unlock.
Pixel users in the Android Beta Program can turn it on through Settings > Display & touch > Lock screen; the same beta rollout also includes 21 bug fixes ahead of a March 2027 launch.
