Summary
Jeanine Pirro said Tuesday her office is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures after filings tied to her husband’s businesses rose from as much as $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024.
Two ventures drove the spike: winery eStCru LLC climbed to a reported $1 million-$5 million from $15,000-$50,000, while Rose Lake Capital LLC rose to $5 million-$25 million from as little as $1.
Monday’s court-authorized search of Omar’s Washington home was part of a separate federal criminal investigation involving immigration paperwork, and authorities have not said whether it is connected to the disclosure probe.
Omar amended the filings in April, cutting the couple’s reported assets to $18,004-$95,000 by saying liabilities had been omitted; her May disclosure listed roughly $20,000-$125,000 in assets.
A congressional watchdog in September recommended dismissing misconduct allegations over the disclosures, but that review was separate from the new federal investigation that Omar says is politically motivated.
