Summary
Pimax said Pimax Play—its headset control software—is being developed as a dedicated Linux client, a step toward plug-and-play support for its VR hardware on Linux distributions.
The hardware push centers on the $1,399 Crystal Pro, a high-end headset with 2880x2880 resolution per eye, built-in Wi-Fi streaming, eye tracking and optional 60GHz AirLink wireless.
The $599 third-generation AirLink kit claims up to 6 Gbps throughput and under 2 milliseconds of added latency, using a 2x2 MIMO 60GHz link that Pimax says is a first for VR headsets.
Pimax also introduced Spation, a compact Steam Machine-style PC for Windows and SteamOS, with configs built around a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti.
No release dates were announced for either product line, and Spation pricing was also withheld, leaving Linux support and hardware availability as the next key milestones.
