Summary
Federal court documents say Aidan Hamilton, 18, and Robert Strang, 20, had the same three substances in their bloodstreams—Mitragynine, MGM-15 and MGPI—after their Sept. 21 deaths in Oxford.
Investigators said those substances are found in Smax Mango Breeze pills, and packaging for the product was recovered at both death scenes with matching $39.99 price tags bearing a black smudge on the 9.
Bank records and a controlled buy tied the product to Puffs Vape, Tobacco and Beer Store, where agents said Yahya Mosleh sold a banned item from a locked container before a search found matching stock.
Prosecutors told the court there is probable cause the seized drugs caused the two overdose deaths; Yahya Mosleh remains jailed as a flight risk, while Islam Mosleh was released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
The filing also says Yahya Mosleh warned a confidential informant after the deaths that people were dying from similar products, as authorities pursue federal drug charges tied to the Oxford shop.
