Several waves of boos rang out at the Superdome as New Orleans fell 45-24 to Atlanta, with fans jeering at halftime and again as many headed for the exits before the fourth quarter ended.
A 24-7 halftime hole flipped a night meant to honor the 20th anniversary of the Saints' post-Katrina return to the dome into a lopsided rivalry loss.
Tyler Shough said the anger was justified — "I'd boo, too" — while Cameron Jordan said the Saints were "punched in the mouth early" and must show what kind of team they are next week.
Atlanta's ground game drove the collapse, piling up 205 rushing yards and five touchdowns from Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson Jr. as New Orleans dropped to 1-3.
