Summary
Explosions again hit Kyiv early Tuesday, hours after a Russian drone strike set the National Academy of Sciences ablaze and killed at least two people in the city center.
Ukraine said Russia is increasingly using faster jet-powered drones: 90 of 120 launched Monday were of that type, and Kyiv put the interception rate at just 57%.
The widening strikes also hit a medical facility, a pharmaceutical company and petrol stations in Kyiv, while attacks elsewhere killed three in Dnipro, one in Synelnykove and wounded 32 in Zaporizhzhia.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said more than 80 people were wounded nationwide and that new interceptors are being tested, while Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged allies to send more air defenses.
Kyiv says Russia has spent six days broadening attacks from homes to economic and communications infrastructure, even as Ukraine steps up strikes on Russian oil facilities and defense plants.
