Taylor Swift unveiled her new “Patient Zero” video during Sunday’s MTV VMAs and accepted the show’s first Artist Director Honors before later returning for Video of the Year.
Dakota Johnson presented the new award and appears in the video with Colin Farrell; Swift and Johnson stopped backstage-bound to watch the premiere on the arena screen with the crowd.
Madonna opened the broadcast, drew one of the night’s biggest in-room reactions and added major wins, while Snoop Dogg hosted a ceremony packed with tributes, including Kacey Musgraves honoring Dolly Parton.
