Summary
Custom Feeds will let U.S. users generate multiple homepage tabs from text prompts across web, mobile and TV, giving viewers more control over YouTube’s often-criticized main feed.
Later this year, YouTube will also add GIF comments on regular videos and Shorts, while direct messages gain group chat in the U.S., UK, Singapore, Brazil and some European countries.
Ask YouTube is being pushed deeper into the platform with conversational product help in review videos, plus search features such as organized recommendations and product comparison tables.
Ask Music is also moving into a more prominent spot in YouTube Music, where it can build or edit playlists, answer artist questions and surface suggestions throughout the app.
The consumer-facing updates follow creator tools unveiled earlier at Made on YouTube, where the company also introduced an AI agent and dynamic testing features for channels.
