Its existing Zhenwu chips already serve more than 650 customers across sectors including automotive, finance, energy and manufacturing, underscoring Alibaba's effort to build out the machinery behind AI demand.
The expansion comes as rivals race to add computing power: Nvidia recently backed up to 2 GW of AI infrastructure in Australia, Meta is building a 1-GW Canada site, and Huawei last week touted systems scaling to 1 million processors.
