Orange County Reports 2 New Dengue Cases, Raising Total to 3

Two locally acquired dengue cases were confirmed in Apopka, lifting Orange County's total to three after an earlier Pine Hills case detected on Sept. 2.

Orange County Mosquito Control said it is going beyond CDC-targeted treatment guidance because dengue cases are rising elsewhere in Florida and officials want to curb further local transmission.
PCR-based lab testing recently added by the county can detect dengue in mosquito samples the same day, replacing outside lab processing and speeding response efforts.
