Developer Recreates iPhone Duo Animation on Galaxy Z Fold 8 as 46 Million Views Fuel Buzz

Less than a day after Apple’s foldable demo spread online, a developer reproduced the iPhone Duo’s signature open-close animation on a Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The effect ties animation frames to the Fold 8’s hinge sensor, mimicking Apple’s blurred outer-screen transition into a 7.6-inch inner display, though only at the launcher level rather than across the whole OS.
46 million X views on Marques Brownlee’s clip helped turn the animation into the Duo’s biggest early talking point, with journalists repeatedly reopening demo units to watch the transition.
The developer’s updated version adds smoothly moving home-screen icons, with a public release planned soon and a fuller launcher adaptation also in development.
Apple’s iPhone Duo starts at €2,399, with pre-orders opening October 16 ahead of an October 23 release.
