Summary
Apple’s first foldable iPhone omits 10 features available on the iPhone 18 Pro line, with the biggest trade-offs in cameras, biometrics and pro imaging tools.
The iPhone Duo lacks a dedicated telephoto lens with up to 8x optical zoom, variable aperture, an 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera, Face ID and LiDAR; it uses a 48-megapixel main camera with 2x “optical-quality” zoom and a Touch ID button.
Pro-focused camera capabilities are also missing, including Camera app pro controls, ProRAW, ProRes RAW and spatial photo and video support.
The release schedule also differs: iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max pre-orders open Sept. 12 before a Sept. 18 launch, while iPhone Duo pre-orders start Oct. 16 ahead of an Oct. 23 release.
