$399.99 Pixel Watch 5 took the top overall spot in TechRepublic’s 2026 Wear OS rankings, ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch9, OnePlus Watch 3 46mm and Galaxy Watch Ultra2.
TechRepublic said the Pixel Watch 5 offered the best balance of Wear OS 7 software, Android 12+ compatibility, health features and battery life, with Google claiming up to 30 hours on the 41mm model and 40 hours on the 45mm.
$379.99 Galaxy Watch9 was the recommended pick for Samsung phone users, while the $349.99 OnePlus Watch 3 46mm led on endurance at up to 5 days in Smart Mode despite using older Wear OS 5 and lacking LTE.
$699.99 Galaxy Watch Ultra2 was ranked the premium outdoor option, pairing Wear OS 7 with LTE, dual-frequency GPS and a 60-hour always-on battery claim, but TechRepublic flagged its size and price as key tradeoffs.
The ranking weighed battery life, software support, phone compatibility, health tracking and value, noting that manufacturer battery estimates were tested under different conditions and should not be compared hour for hour.
