Family Finds 4 Dead After Bahamas Plane Crash as Weather Halted Official Search

Bad weather had suspended the official search Monday after the PA-34 Piper lost contact about 13 miles west of Andros Island while flying from Great Harbour Cay to Opa-locka.
Bahamian officials said the aircraft appears to have diverted because of inclement weather, ending up west of Andros instead of on its planned route to Florida.
Mario Lamar Sr., 80, was piloting the plane; his wife Lili, 79, and grandchildren Sofia Sosa, 28, and Christian Sosa, 22, were also aboard.
The family said it is now working with the U.S. Coast Guard to bring the victims home, closing a search that relatives launched after official efforts were halted.
