DDI chips cannot be shifted from other Galaxy models because each foldable uses display-specific components, and a normal production cycle takes about four months before chips can be paired with OLED panels.
Samsung is also raising orders for Fold 8 hinges and ultra-thin glass, while Galaxy Z Flip 8 demand is reportedly weaker than expected.
The supply squeeze lands as Samsung tries to capitalize on strong foldable demand ahead of Apple's expected passport-style foldable launch next month.
