Summary
Compose Multiplatform 1.12.0 adds an experimental MCP server to Compose Hot Reload, letting AI coding agents connect to running apps and verify their own edits.
Through that server, agents can trigger reloads, take screenshots, inspect the semantic tree, simulate clicks and text input, and read application logs.
Web support now adds automatic font fallback: when a character is missing, the framework downloads the matching Noto subset and recomposes the text, improving Japanese, Arabic, Devanagari and emoji rendering.
Desktop apps also get an experimental v2 window and dialog API, giving developers finer control over screen selection, custom positioning, sizing logic, and minimum and maximum window bounds.
JetBrains unveiled the release on August 26 as an update to its Kotlin UI framework for sharing code across platforms.
