Iran Strikes 2 US Targets in Jordan and UAE After Larak Island Attack

Iran said it fired missiles at two US bases in Jordan and launched dozens of drones at US assets at Al Menhad airbase in the UAE, expanding its retaliation beyond the Jordan strikes reported earlier.
The attacks followed US strikes on two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island that Washington said were preparing to fire naval mines into the Strait of Hormuz; Iran said several soldiers and civilians were killed or wounded.
Jordan’s army said it intercepted eight missiles over its airspace, while the UAE said its air force responded to a drone approaching from Iran and denied its airbase was hit.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran was not seeking war but would answer any aggression decisively, as both Tehran and Washington cast their actions as defensive.
The exchange broke the first active US-Iran clash since late July and further dimmed diplomatic efforts, with Washington also preparing more sanctions in a war already disrupting oil supply.
