Around 140 attack drones were launched across Ukraine between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, with more than 100 jet-powered and most aimed at Kyiv in successive waves.
Those faster drones can reach 500 km/h—beyond many Ukrainian interceptor drones—forcing repeated shelter orders and delaying rail services for at least another day.
One person was killed and two injured in the Kyiv region on Friday, while 14 warehouses, 16 homes, three apartment buildings and 16 vehicles were damaged.
Ukraine says the tactic is meant to exhaust air defenses and civilians; the Kremlin maintained the strikes were targeting military-related infrastructure.
