Seven Face Terror-Linked Charges Over 2025 Trump Turnberry Course Damage

Seven defendants are due in court on 31 August after Scottish prosecutors charged them over alleged damage at Trump Turnberry and said the case was aggravated by an alleged terrorist connection.
The indictment says turf was dug up, glyphosate or a similar weed killer was sprayed on fairways and greens, and paint was used on buildings, signs and grass during the 8 March 2025 action.
Prosecutors also allege damage to a sprinkler system that caused flooding and to a light; one slogan at the resort read “Gaza is not 4 sale,” linking the incident to Gaza-related protest.
No verdict has been reached, and the terrorism-related aggravation remains an allegation that could affect sentencing if proved in the normal criminal process.
The case has drawn wider scrutiny because Turnberry is Donald Trump’s high-profile Ayrshire resort, where non-resident tee times have reached £1,000 and the Ailsa course has hosted The Open four times.
