Summary
$6 million in PGA Tour sponsorship is being abandoned by Good Good, days after Callaway said it was ending the relationship immediately over the ad fallout.
The backlash began after a co-branded driver promo showed co-founder Garrett Clark shoving former NCAA golfer Alexis Miestowski and saying, “Do not touch my new driver,” prompting both companies to pull the video by late Friday.
Callaway said it had approved the ad but that “mistakes were made,” launched internal and external investigations, and pledged $1 million to groups working to prevent violence against women.
Retail and media partners also pulled back: Dick’s, Golf Galaxy and PGA Tour Superstore removed Good Good products, Target no longer listed them online, and Golf Channel delayed “Big Break x Good Good” after Golf Galaxy sought to remove branding.
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp called Good Good’s initial response defensive and late; the November Austin event once branded the Good Good Championship had already been described as a “fluid situation.”
