DuckDuckGo Adds GPT-5.6 Luna to Duck.ai Free Tier Without Accounts

GPT-5.6 Luna is now the default free model in Duck.ai, giving users access to one of OpenAI’s latest models without creating an account or logging in.
DuckDuckGo routes prompts through itself, strips identifying metadata such as IP addresses, does not store chats by default, and says provider agreements bar training on those conversations.
Duck.ai also lets users switch models inside the same chat, with free options including Claude Haiku 4.5, Mistral Small 4, GPT-5.4 mini, gpt-oss-120b and Gemma-4-31B.
That broader model menu gives Duck.ai more flexibility than privacy-focused rivals such as Proton’s Lumo or Confer, though those services may still be safer for highly sensitive or confidential exchanges.
