Shark Attack Survivor Leah Stewart Thanks Donors for $558,925 After Losing Arm at Sydney Beach

More than $558,925 has been raised for Leah Stewart, who said the donations have given her family enough support to stay in their home and consider future medical treatment.
Stewart, 34, said her recovery has been "remarkable" and that she is regaining some independence after spending more than two weeks in critical condition following the 13 June attack at Coogee beach.
In her first media interview since the attack, the teacher and mother recalled thinking her one-year-old daughter would grow up without a mother as the shark held onto her leg.
Stewart, whose injuries required the amputation of an arm, described the shark's face as "horrific" and said she now sees her survival as a second chance at life.
