According to WIRED, an internal Madison Square Garden document said the arena’s video management system was locked down for about seven hours on July 2 “due to a client privacy request,” and sources said the same happened again on July 3, the wedding night. That move effectively prevented most MSG security staff from accessing the internal camera network and using the venue’s facial-recognition tools, with access limited to a small group of executives and engineers. The broader security plan supports that explanation. Multiple reports said Swift and Kelce imposed unusually strict secrecy measures: no-phone rules, secure bags for devices, restricted access inside the arena, private entrances, tents and blackout drapes to shield arrivals, and tightly controlled invitations. WIRED also reported guests likely avoided the standard entrances where biometric scanning was typically used. The likely reason was to stop internal tracking, monitoring, and possible leaks involving celebrity guests at an event the couple wanted kept private. That is especially notable because MSG’s facial-recognition system has been controversial for its use in identifying and tracking individuals inside the venue. Disabling it, even temporarily, appears to have been part of an extraordinary privacy accommodation for one of the year’s highest-profile private events.

Dean Blandino, who attended the Madison Square Garden wedding, said “nobody signed the NDAs,” directly challenging weeks of reports that guests had to accept strict secrecy agreements.
Graham Norton, whose podcast remark helped fuel the rumor, later said he had been joking, undercutting one of the main public claims that NDAs were required.
