Apple Ships iOS 27 Beta 7 With Siri AI Upgrades Ahead of September Release

Apple and beta reporting point to faster app launches, smoother scrolling and animations, better battery management, improved search stability, quicker file transfers, faster AirDrop, and more seamless switching between Wi‑Fi and cellular. Older supported phones are also expected to gain from Apple’s updated CPU scheduling, which is aimed at making them feel more responsive. What many users will not get is the headline Apple Intelligence experience. Those features require newer hardware, generally an iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max or iPhone 16 and later, while some of the most advanced on-device AI features need even more powerful models such as the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, or iPhone Air. Some Siri AI capabilities are also delayed until later in the year, and some iOS 27 features are being held for iOS 27.1 or 27.2. That means your current iPhone will likely benefit if you value speed, battery life, stability, and a cleaner interface. It will benefit less if you are upgrading mainly for Apple’s newest AI tools. In practical terms, iPhone 11 to 14 users get refinement; iPhone 15 Pro and newer users get refinement plus at least part of the AI roadmap.

Beta 7 is now live for developers through the Settings app on eligible iPhones, with Apple positioning it as the latest step before iOS 27 ships publicly next month.
Siri AI remains the centerpiece: Apple says the rebuilt assistant adds richer conversations, personal context, broader world knowledge, on-screen awareness and deeper app actions, plus a Dynamic Island interface and a dedicated Siri app.
Visual Intelligence is also expanding through Siri, including a new Camera app mode, while Apple Intelligence gains features across Photos, Safari, Passwords, Mail, Messages, Phone, Shortcuts and Home.
Beyond AI, iOS 27 beta 7 includes a Liquid Glass transparency slider, faster app and camera performance, smoother AirDrop and network transitions, and updates such as FaceTime Dual Capture, custom AirPods EQ and AI wallpaper creation.
Apple is expected to turn this build into public beta 5, though the company still warns testers to expect bugs, battery drain and app compatibility issues as the beta cycle nears its September finish.
